Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

I purchased the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in the shade 100 Ivory as I had read so many great reviews about this product. This foundation retails for £5.99 and you get 30ml worth of product which is really good value for money. I love the packaging of this product as it is mess free - you just squeeze out how much product that you want rather than having to pour the product out of a bottle which can be really annoying. Also the fact that the packaging is plastic means that it is a lot lighter and more convenient for travel.

I use my real techniques buffing brush to apply this foundation as I find it gives the best finish. The consistency is mousse like and it does dry to a matte finish (however I do still find that I need to apply a light powder over the top). The coverage is medium to full which I love as I do tend to get blemishes. I have found that I don't tend to need concealer with this foundation which I am happy about. I have also found that this foundation blends very well into the skin and makes the overall appearance of my skin look healthier.

However, there are a couple of negative points to this foundation, one of which is the shade range. I purchased the shade Ivory which I have found to be quite dark. I have to really blend the product into the skin to lighten the shade otherwise it can look quite orange. I do think that it will be perfect for the summer when I have a tan, but considering this is the lightest shade it is too dark. Also another negative point I have found is that throughout the day this product does wear off which means that I have to reapply the foundation in some areas, which I have never had to do before with a foundation.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review

After considering purchasing the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette for quite a while I decided to take the plunge as it was 10% off on Feel Unique. I have always been more attracted towards purple and silver eye shadow shades but I wanted to try something different and try more natural colours. This is the first product I have ever purchased from Urban Decay and I am very impressed with the shades and the pigmentation. Although this palette isn't cheap, the quality of the eye shadow is very good and I feel that they will last for a long amount of time as the colour pay off that you get for applying a small amount of product is great. The packaging is also really lovely, I love how the palette clicks shut and also the mirror is very handy. However the brush it comes with isn't great and I much prefer to apply the eye shadows with my real techniques brushes. I was also very impressed by the fact that these eye shadows last all day without fading or creasing.

There are 12 shades in this palette; some that are matte and some that are glittery -
  1. Strange is a very neutral colour that works great as a highlight.
  2. Dust is a glitter light pink that I think looks great as a base.
  3. Burnout is natural pink shade that is slightly more matte, however it does have a slight metallic effect to it.
  4. Limit is a matte dusty pink shade which also works great as a base.
  5. Buzz is a slightly deeper pink glitter shade with a hint of purple to it.
  6. Trick is a gold glitter shade with a hint of rose gold to it.
  7. Nooner is a matte mauve shade which looks really natural on the lids.
  8. Liar is a metallic bronze colour which looks great blended on the outer corners of the lids.
  9. Factory is another metallic shade, similar to Liar however it is more of a brown shade.
  10. Mugshot is a metallic taupe shade which looks great blended into the crease of the lid.
  11. Darkside is an almost matte darker taupe shade with subtle glitter running through it.
  12. Blackheart is a very unusual black shade which has red glitter running through it - this looks great along the lash line.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

I purchased this cleanser purely due to the fact that it was on offer at the time and also the fact that I really liked the look of the packaging. I have only ever tried the Almay cleanser a few years ago and have used the Clean & Clear cleansing lotion ever since. This product has been labelled as the drug store dupe of Bioderma, and after hearing a lot of people talking about how amazing Bioderma is I thought I would give the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water a try.

Having only tried Cleansing Lotions in the past I was intrigued to see how different a Cleansing Water would be. What I love about this product is that it does not irritate the skin at all which I have experienced with the Clean & Clear Cleanser particularly around my eye area. It is scent free and it feels very light on the skin and also really cleansing & gentle. I use this Cleansing Water with cotton pads after removing my makeup with wipes and then using my Garnier Pure Active Blackhead Clearing Scrub and I find that it does remove a surprising amount residue. Although this normally retails for £4.99 I do think that it is good value for your money as it comes in a 400ml bottle which lasts for a lot longer than other cleansers. The bottle does state that there are 200 uses in each bottle, however I don't think that I will get that many uses out of it.

I will definitely be purchasing another bottle of this once I run out as I do feel that this product has improved the over all appearance of my skin and I feel that my skin is a lot softer and clearer.

Tanya Burr's Lip Gloss & Nail Polish Collection

After subscribing to Tanya Burr's YouTube channel two years ago and watching her videos ever since I was very excited to hear that she would be bringing out a lip gloss and nail polish collection. I purchased one lip gloss in the colour 'Aurora' and one nail polish in the colour 'Bright and Early' to put to the test.

My thoughts on the Tanya Burr nail polish in the shade 'Bright and Early' -
I love the colour of this nail polish, I think its a perfect coral pink colour for spring/summer. I applied this nail polish along with my seche clear basecoat and seche vite top coat and it lasted five days without chipping which is great. The consistency is a litter thinner than some of my other nail polishes, however after two coats it looks really nice.

My thoughts on the Tanya Burr lip gloss in the shade 'Aurora' -
I absolutely love this lip gloss! I find that the texture of the lip gloss is really creamy and moisturising on the lips which I really like as I tend to find a lot of lip glosses too sticky and uncomfortable to wear. I also really like the colour of this product - it's the perfect natural pink colour with a slight shimmer running through it. The added bonus of this lip gloss is that it smells and tastes like strawberries and cream! It is by far my favourite lip product to use at the moment.

I will definitely be purchasing more products from this collection - particularly the lip glosses.
